Our Chief Executive
Kevin van Zyl is a highly accomplished risk management professional with over thirty years of exceptional strategic insight and vision.
A distinguished graduate of the University of South Africa, Kevin is also an alumnus of the University of Cape Town’s Business School. His expertise in Six Sigma Leadership includes Black Belt and Master Black Belt certifications from the prestigious CSI International in the United States.
Currently, Kevin serves as the Chief Executive of Horizon Risk Management (PTY) Ltd, where he has played a critical role in preventing significant losses within the platinum mining and refining sector.
His strategic contributions include:
- Implementing management programs that establish a framework for continuous improvement, elevating the professionalism of several operations.
- Establishing best practice guides and codes of conduct through a dedicated Centre for Excellence.
- Providing crucial support for major capital programs, resulting in a significant reduction in unaccounted losses.
- Designing protest management techniques and procedures to effectively handle adverse protest events.
- Creating sophisticated crime prevention plans that align explicitly with business needs and have a proven track record of success.
- Serving as a subject-matter expert to audit and risk committees.
In addition, Kevin is a registered Safety Professional with SAIOSH and possesses a wealth of expertise across various domains. With a strong background as an auditor for Quality Management Systems, he brings a meticulous approach to ensuring organizational excellence. His extensive experience in Aviation Security highlights his commitment to upholding the highest standards in safety and security protocols.
